1. We asked for tiny fridge & one was promised but never delivered.

2. In the event, it was a tiny fire outside the building which was of absolutely no significance whatsoever and was brought under control quickly by the fire department, but the concierge saw fit to wake everybody in the hotel with a loud tannoy message, alerting everybody of the fire, but saying that the fire was under control and that everybody should stay in their rooms and NOT panic.

3. The carpets were old, dirty and worn, the paint was peeling and the wallpaper was stained and there were absolutely NO worthwhile facilities unless you were prepared to pay over and above the extortionate fees already paid for what amounts to a tiny, lifeless room.

4. The room was dark, smelly, cramped, dishevelled and in need of total refurbishment, the bathroom was tiny, with less than an inch between the door opening and almost striking the toilet pan.

5. The hotel doesn't offer much but a comfortable room to sleep, a tiny bar and a very dark restaurant, we didn't spend much time in the hotel; spending much of our time enjoying the city.

7. It was also dark as the only window was obscured by another part of the building which jutted out, the bath was tiny, only allowing for sitting in, it was incredibly shallow and the pipe-work for the taps which were on the wall were loose and ill fitting.

9. Our room was tiny and had absolutely no worthwhile facilities unless you were prepared to pay extra for them, like wi-fi, which the world and his wife provides either as a component of a package, or completely free as most other places in New York do.
