1. Ok so here are a few facts: The carpet in our room was badly stained, worn out and not routinely vacuumed.

4. Upon close inspection, the room was outdated, furnishings and fixtures were old with worn finishes, and overall the room had a grungy feeling that creeped my wife out.

The linens were old and stained, my wife would not sit on the couch because it looked really worn and old (think college dorm), the TV while new hung crooked on its bracket (and could not be straightened), and the large room was only cleaned enough for a first impression - it was actually pretty dirty, and not acceptable for longer than a one night stay.

Had we been paying more, however, I would have been less tolerant of the meager/boring continental breakfasts, unheated swimming pool, non-existent fitness center, very small refrigerator and unavailable cooking implements and well-worn beach chairs/umbrellas (that could not be used past 3:00 PM.
