1. The pond desperately needed cleaning and was a little funky smelling (poor fish), and the mosquitos were awful.

2. As for Hotel Wailea, poor furniture, bad carpet, bad paint, kitchen does not have a utensils, has a mini fridge, had a really bad parquet floors in the bath area, toilet room that was less than inviting & the tv cables were hanging off the wall.

3. We went to the luau at the Marriot ( dont bother going it was poor ) and although the public areas looked very plush , the rooms looked small and far too close together , the Hotel Wailea has huge suites and plenty of space between them , much much nicer place to stay .

6. Either the hotel has laid everyone off, or Management has decided that the slow decline into a skeleton staff and increasingly obvious poor maintenance and facility damage were a good selling point for repeat guests.

8. Later impression of the room, the next day:After more time in the room, the initial impression wore off and we started noticing the hallmark feature of the Hotel Wailea, poor maintenance in every way.
