1. unfortunately 1 day into our stay we were notified of scheduled renovations.

2. unfortunately, our floor seemed to have several families traveling together so they would let the kids (smaller ones) run up and down the hall into the different rooms they were occupying, talking, laughing screaming.

One reason I wanted a higher floor was so that we could leave the sliding door to the balcony open as I wanted to hear the waves as much as I could, but being on the first floor this would have been a security issue, and unfortunately we could also hear the music quite clearly that was coming from the live entertainment, EVERY night, at the pool area.

4. I liked the rooms, they felt big enough for two of us, tv was nice and big, unfortunately the veranda was on the tight side and we only had an ocean partial view so it wasnt very worth sitting out there much.

5. Only issue, totally unrelated to the excellent service of the hotel, was that the guests in the room below us did not respect the hotel's 'no smoking' policy and often smoked a cigar on the balcony which drifted into our room and was unfortunate and unpleasant at times.

Be very very aware of who is on the other side of the adjoining door as this could make or break the holiday - obviously these are not issues if your are in an Ocean Front room Re the food room service took a long time and one of our biggest negatives was the Dukes Restaurant not actually being part of the hotel so there was a disconnect when getting pool service u literally had to show your passport so they could confirm u were staying at the Hotel - u could not take cocktails from the pool back to your room ( we sneaked them anyway ) and then we u are on your way to the pool you literally have to go through a shopping Mall on that ground level to get to the Pool, - this is so not what we are used to and unfortunately for that reason alone we would not stay back there - The Hotel is trying to be too many things to to many people I think.

8. The hotel doesn't have any sun beds on the beach, only around the pool and on a patio area and unfortunately they were crammed in so that there wasn't room for a table to put drinks on or even put a bag down.
