We got a package with earplugs in it when we arrived because there was
construction
going on, but we couldn't hear it.

I booked an Oceanview King room through the Outrigger website - I was able to get a VERY good rate due to the
construction
going on at the hotel.

There is also some
construction
that is going on in the hotel but they don't start until 9am which is good because everyone is usually out and about at that time anyway.

The biggest pain was one of the elevators was in use for
construction
, so it was slower to get one during the day, but so not a big deal.

We hardly heard
construction
noise however the people at The Hawaiian Hotel ( paying full price) did according to a Trip Advisor review for that hotel.

The hotel was undergoing renovations so the rate was reduced, however, for the inconvienence of no pool, long wait for the elevator and noise and
construction
crew at our balcony view everyday and walking past our room continuously.

The hotel was
construct
ed in 1967, and kudos must go to the Outrigger chain for ensuring its continuing place amongst the best and well located hotels in Waikiki.

The rates were similar to the Moana Surfrider and the HHV for the same category room but we picked this hotel because the Surfrider had many complaints regarding their customer service and the HHV had issues with their wifi in the room and
construction
.
"Great location...but looking forward to the renovations "
