1. It was very coarse and there were a lot of rocks and old coral type rocks.

Tips: Catch the trolley (open buses) with the pink flag to go to the big shopping mall 'Ala Moana centre', hire a car and visit Pearl Harbor, Waikele Premium Outlets and Sunset Beach on the North Shore where they host the Surfing Pipe Masters comps, eat at the Hula Grill, Roys, Cheesecake Factory and Hard rock - we didn't get a chance to dine at Yard Mile but heard lots of good feedback.

3. The overall property is also quite small but has a nice stretch of white sand beach in front of the hotel along with a rock free bottom for swimming.

Tips - If you have young children walk down the beach towards Diamond head and they have 2 rock pools - they are fantastic for the kids and you and its less crowded and u can actually relax and spread out and take in the gorgeous setting as it is v busy space of beach outside the hotel - if you want to Pool/Beach Toys go over to ABC store they have them really cheap and will inflate for u Do the walk up Diamond Head my brother did and he could see on a clear day all the way over to Maui absolutely stunning We did a massive day tour with included Pearl Harbour/ Dole Plantation the North Shore , Polynesian Centre and a beautiful Look out was a Massive day especially for the kids but well worth it - u really got to see everything in 1 day Shopping you can not beat Waikelle the fashion Outlets - the concierge will get u on the shuttle and try and spend whole day there it is massive and so are the savings soo cheap - We went to the most amazing Restaurant on the last night it is called and The Top of Waikiki it s a revolving restaurant up 21 floors the views and food were sublime worth every cant So all in all we loved Waikiki but although the hotel is well maintained and a good price and in a fantastic location - we would not return because of how disjointed the whole hotel and restaurant and pool area just not seamless enough for us and does not suit our needs.

10. If the music had been Hawaiian music played at good level I would have enjoyed it but it seemed like all recycled rock music that is of no interest to me.
