1. they turned out to be timeshare sales people who held guests captive for hours while they tried to hard sell their timeshares so beware of these.

2. The flight arrived very early morning and we envisaged having to hang about for 6 or more hour but hotel staff worked hard and moved things around so by the time we had breakfast a room was available.

3. We hardly heard construction noise however the people at The Hawaiian Hotel ( paying full price) did according to a Trip Advisor review for that hotel.

4. The pool is nice, but kind of small as well as the pool deck area is small and a little hard to navigate through when there are a bunch of people at the pool.

Tips: Catch the trolley (open buses) with the pink flag to go to the big shopping mall 'Ala Moana centre', hire a car and visit Pearl Harbor, Waikele Premium Outlets and Sunset Beach on the North Shore where they host the Surfing Pipe Masters comps, eat at the Hula Grill, Roys, Cheesecake Factory and hard Rock - we didn't get a chance to dine at Yard Mile but heard lots of good feedback.

6. There's a lot of history there, and I think they try really hard to keep their guests happy and comfortable.

7. The hotel does get very busy because of Duke's bar and very hard to ever get a table, in saying this the cocktails are the best we have ever had (especially the Lava Flow).

9. We found it hard to get a place to lay down on the beach with a towel as we were not going to pay $50 a day for a lounge chair and umbrella for the day.
