1. Opposite hotels looked very dated compared to this one, neighboring hotels 'pink palace' or 'venectian' or 'sheraton' looked very very nice, but also expensive.

2. WE are coming to Hawaii again in January 2013 and we have already booked a room (oceanview but not a suite as it is a bit expensive taking the kids) so hopefully the new renovations will only add to wanting to stay at this hotel.

3. Breakfast at Dukes nice but quite expensive so we went somwhere different to eat a few times for a change.

4. There are also surfboard rentals by the beach, but they are more expensive and I don't think they allow long-term rentals, it's just day-to-day.
