1. The subway is a block and a half away and 77th is a quiet street with plenty of cabs the doorman can get you from Amsterdam, so travel to/from the hotel is easy.

There is not parking lot or garage for this hotel, there is a hertz and a public parking garage on the street, but its very expensive on new years day we took a chance and parked on the street, and thank goodness the car wasn't towed because it was a holiday, but we were nervous, just couldn't pay so much for parking $25-75 per night.

OTA is very convenient to the subway, 2 blocks from Starbucks, and the 24-hour market across the street is the best -- superb selection of fresh meats and great cheeses, fresh produce, a hot deli, etc. I especially like the new Serafinas restaurant which is attached to the hotel, although they do not provide room service.
