1. Nice room, well located (Central Park and downtown), very clean.

2. Very close from downtown New York City.

3. (It reminded me a little of Binion`s Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas, which actually TRIES to look like an antique bordello) Even if all of it had been NEW, it would have been UGLY; but the fact that it was all so old and worn in addition to being ugly, cast the hotel in a creepy dim light.
"Old decor; Antique staff; Good location " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/4/2007 Vote
4. Each trip costs $40 but the ticket last for 24 hours so you can use it for a day afterwards and hop on and off where you feel like, but on the Uptown and Downtown trips, the bus stops right outside this hotel.
"Enjoyable Experience - Great Staff " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/26/2007 Vote
5. Taking a train back downtown and then uptown again a few days later to retrieve the car was no big deal (way better than paying $32/day for parking around the Helmsley).
"Classy and elegant. Best hotel we've ever stayed in! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/13/2011 Vote
6. Opposite Central Park and easy access to Downtown Manhattan.
"Very good location, hotel needs refurbishment " Read full review on TripAdvisor   12/14/2010 Vote
7. I thought I was quite away from the main attractions in New York but the open top bus tour stops outside the hotel over the road for both the uptown and downtown loops and the subway station is also only a stones throw away.
"Fantastic views of Central Park. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/8/2010 Vote
8. Our room was on the 21st floor with a downtown view, so we didn`t experience the view down central park, just the back of some fairly ugly tower blocks.
"Not bad, but not quite as smart as they like to think " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/7/2007 Vote
9. Our room was on the 36th floor with a view downtown (not the Park - that was more expensive).
"Enjoyed the Park Lane " Read full review on TripAdvisor   6/6/2007 Vote
10. Negatives: not close to the downtown action (if you like it), touristy, hard to find casual bars/restaurants.
"Love the views of Central Park " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/29/2011 Vote
