1. Although we had heard that New York hotels were noisy we found this hotel to be very quiet, we couldn't hear the noise from the streets below so all had good nights sleeps.

3. You have theaters and great restaurants around, and a supermarket on 49th and 8th street which makes it perfect if you don't want to eat out all the time.

4. Try the Russian Vodka Room across the road from the hotel on 52nd street for happy hour cocktails but get there before 5 as it fills up really quickly.

5. other quick recommends:head to the very top of the RockMacy's - disappointing but worth a trip anywayAmazing but expensive shops - Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Sacks, Bloomingdales,Fun times - try your hand at playing on the BIG piano at FAO ShwartzStroll through Central ParkTry the playwright pub on the corner of 46th street and 8th av for a really friendly laid back pint or two.

6. My husband and I have just returned from a trip to NYC, we stayed 5 nights at Novotel and here is what we thought:Pros:- Great location, right on Times Square, if you want to stay in this area- Efficient service - Our room was pretty big for NYC- We didn't hear any noise from the street or the other rooms- I loved the glass wall between the shower and the bedroom that switches from transparent to opaque just by pressing a button .

8. Places to eat - Ellens Starburst Diner and Emett O Lunneys on Times Square and THE best deli on the planet Carve on the corner of 8th Ave and 48th or 49th Street (can't remember which one).
