1. There was also a great grocery in the Mauna Lani resort area outside the Fairmont called Foodland Farms, which definitely cut the cost of our food while staying at the hotel.

2. It costs nothing to join the President's club, which you can do online from their website, and it grants you free wi-fi, free access to the fitness center as well as the steam room and sauna in the spa, 10% off spa treatments and free Taylor Made golf club rentals.

3. I am a very frequent traveler of 20 years and I know that when I hotel starts missing easy opportunities to make their most loyal guests happy at no cost, they won't be around for long.

4. At the other restaurant the food was very creative but not as good - but both are way better than the Fairmont and worth the drive and the cost.

9. We did the Gathering of the Kings Luau on the Saturday night which was fantastic - it cost $102 per person and we got great food (again, they prepared a special meal for me), a great show, and unlimited cocktails (the mai tai's were fantastic).
