7. Definitely rent a car, you will want to travel to some of the interesting other beaches (black sand beach, for example) and Volcanoes National Park, and other great sites on the Big Island, but be prepared for the hotel to charge you $10-20 a day to a park.

10. Didn't like $14.50 per day internet access charge, as it should be complimentary at a facility this caliber, but I was glad we had access as I had to stay connected with my work.
