5. The location of the hotel is great as it is only a short walk down the hill to Union Square and it is also right on the tram line to Union Square and Fisherman's wharf.

7. First, the basics: This is a very nice hotel with clean rooms, comfortable beds, full service, a nice bar, a great staff and, as is the Renaissance standard, Aveda bath products.
