1. There are, however, fantastic restaurants for dinner downtown if you're willing to walk (possibly dangerous--this is not a walking downtown at night--at least not around this hotel beyond getting to Disney Hall) or take a cab.

5. This is not an area that draws many tourists these days, and in fact it can be a dangerous area at night, but we loved, loved, loved staying right there among all the skyscrapers and historical treasures such as angel's flight, the Bradbury building, grand central market, etc.

10. The latter walk took us through a few blocks mostly comprised of parking lots, which my wife and daughter complained about mightily, but (on friday night) there were always at least some people around and no suggestion of danger.
