Here are some specifics: LOCATION: Between the Tenderloin and Nob Hill, so a little
shabby
, but central, safe, and walking distance to some great restaurants.

The staff were really friendly, and our experience couldnt be faulted, but on exploring the hotel further it was very obvious which floors had been renovated and which hadnt, and obviously cant comment on those rooms, but the floors did look a little
shabby
.

The lobby structure (walls etc), is looking a little
shabby
, but this was due to poor workmanship rather than dirty or old, which is a shame as the furniture is bright and funky.

Rooms were basic, a bit worn and
shabby
but also clean; I was told by the front desk that they will be refurbishing them later in the year.

Very nice room (512) Standard King, however carpeting somewhat
shabby
and burnt-out bulbs on nite tables , reported but never changed.

The hotel has a slightly
shabby
air and the room, though large, smelt very damp for the first day, but soon cleared once the window was opened, however, even though freshly painted, the wallpaper was coming away in some places.
