1. A few people mentioned that the hotel is in a not so great part of town, but I honestly didn't think there was anything scary about it -- all the same normal stuff you'll run into in a big city.

2. 5 years back in the 90's and unfortunately some things haven't changed: in some of the neighborhoods and certainly this one, there are a lot of rough-looking people out on the streets at night and while many of them are decent people, some of them can be quite aggressive, obnoxious and downright scary.
