3. Love staying in Fishermans Wharf again - might be a bit tacky but feels safe and lots to do in the evenings with 8 year old.

While the Fisherman's Wharf area is quite tacky and cheasy and may be uninteresting to anyone but the novice tourist or a family in need of a multitude of distractions for their kids, the hotel and neighborhood puts you in walking distance of most of central San Francisco's neighborhoods (get ready for those hills.

5. In places it is quite trashy,tacky and very touristy, we have a place similar in England called Blackpool , however it is much much smaller than Blackpool and not half as dirty .
