1. I used to stay at The Fairmont right across the street (double the price and very noisy/busy), but from now on will stay at The Mark.

3. Pros:- The hotel is a beautiful landmark- The room service staff was very friendly- Large walk in closet- Request for more towels was handled quickly and hotel staff that delivered them was friendlyCons- Dismal front desk staff- noisy because of the cable cars- Small bathroom with very little counter space- Only 2 small thin towels were provided for 3 guests- Parking is $57/night- If you walk to the hotel, it's 5 steep blocks uphillTip- If you are running the SF marathon, be prepared to walk 5 steep blocks uphill afterwards or bring $5 to ride the cable car up to the hotel.

8. So, the walls are not the thickest, but that is not the fault of anyone in particular, and frankly this situation of noisy neighbors and thin walls often happens to me at many nice hotels.
