1. I was disturbed that the two bottles of water in the bathroom (for which there is a charge) had broken seals and were probably refilled by the previous occupant.

The hairdryer was broken, insufficient cleaning had left clumps of hair on the armchairs completely ignored, and the general furnishings showed all the signs of scrimping and saving on the proprietors' part; furniture and units (probably from Ikea) that might have looked slick when first bought for the hotel's 2008 opening but only three years down the line look tacky and tired.
