1. The rooms and bathroom are on the small size and there is quite a bit of street noise twenty-four hours a day, but it is New York City, so I feel like that is not outside of what i expected.

2. It's central but without the noise and flashing lights of cheaper/smaller places that can get really annoying when you're trying to relax or sleep.

3. That said, the second night I turned on the air-conditioning in my room so that the hum of the unit would work as 'white noise' all night and it worked perfectly.

4. We were situated on the 5th floor on the corner of Madison Avenue and 45th and didn't get one decent nights sleep due to the road noise even though the windows were double glazed.
"Don't be fooled by stunning photography! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/29/2012 Vote
5. Great place to eat, Hard Rock Cafe - don't go there if you don't like noise though, it's pretty loud in there unless you go around noon.
"Great location, nice room but eat somewhere else! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/23/2012 Vote
6. For a quieter room I'd suggest requesting a higher floor, but this is New York City, so you're going to hear trucks, taxis and emergency services, but eventually your brain will tune out this white noise.

7. The first night we DID notice a lot of noise from the room next door - we think it was a bachelor party and they were using the room as their meeting point - the second night all was quiet, so I can't say if the walls are overly thin, or we just had overly noisy neighbors the first night.

8. Upon arrival, we asked for an upgrade again and we got a standard king room on the 12th floor with no view (but no traffic noise).
"Solid choice for price point and location " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/28/2012 Vote
9. The rooms were super quiet, and we were barely able to hear the traffic noise below.
"Classic NYC Hotel Experience " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/25/2012 Vote
10. We weren't affected by it but I know some people would have had a problem sleeping with the noise of the city outside.
