4. Now, I understand and respect the culture of tipping in the United States (and in fact the first time that the baggage porter started rudely demanding a tip, I was already in the process of getting together the money to give him a tip) but, in all my travels throughout the United States and the world, I have never been subjected to such rude, shameless and aggressive conduct from baggage porters demanding tips.

6. Just to clarify -I stayed here on two non-consecutive occasions within the course of a week so hence my continued references to my first and second stay hereI agonized over what rating to give this hotel when writing my review because I had such an amazingly wonderful and enjoyable time staying in this truly breathtakingly beautiful hotel but it was marred by the unprofessional, rude and disrespectful conduct of the bell staff during my second and final stay here.

7. I can understand it was a holiday weekend, that the porters were busy and so on but, really, they should have been better prepared for that eventuality and I can imagine that business clients could be late for meetings, flights and so on with this kind of slow service and that would not be a good ideaThe service and length of time it took for a porter to come and collect my bags was so long that it played a not insignificant role in me missing my flight which in turn meant that I missed a connecting flight which in turn led me to miss an international flight (luckily there was one available an hour later)What was just as bad, though, was the rude, belligerent and somewhat aggressive way that the baggage porters demanded tips on both my arrival and departure during my second stay.

I signed up as a loyalty member before, to receive the free goodies - free coffee and internet :-(ProsDecent GymStarbucks in the lobbyClose to train stationConsInexperienced staff - Fairly rude, if asked to make adjustments (Most of them are only a few months old)Front Office Manager (Chinese Lady) , refuses to talk to guests, and tries to appear very busyBathroom is very small .
