1. I found the bathroom kind of dated, and the heating system produced an odor when it was turned on.

2. As such, the rooms are large, nicely appointed, although dated and the hotel has a majestic lobby, meeting rooms and beautiful outdoor gardens (see photos below.

3. Our stay was at the time of Hurricane Irene and the staff kept us up to date (without asking) of the situation and forward travel arrangements.

7. From the outside, the hotel appeared to be dated; 70s looking and perhaps run-down, but my doubts were instantly wiped away as soon the doorman greeted me and I stepped into the stunning and cavernous marble lobby with its many crystal chandeliers dangling from its vaulted ceilings.

8. If you plan your trip ahead of time and have flexible dates you may find packages which include breakfast am parking for as little as 125$/night.

9. There are what seems like and endless number of different rooms throughout the ground floor (the beatles, movie stars, musicians, and many presidents have been inside the shoreham for one reason or another) and the hotel retains an old refined feeling without coming off as dated or needing work.
