1. We had a good nights sleep and enjoyed the option of a late check out time (because they weren't as full for the next night) so we took our time and explored the ballrooms on the 23rd floor (recommend walking through - great view of the city and the famous Allerton sign).

In fact, I ended up having to leave a day early due to a family emergency, and despite the fact that I called the front desk after 11 AM on the day I needed to check out, they were more than accommodating and told me that as long as I checked out before 1 PM, I would not have to pay for the second night.

4. The front desk was snotty both at check in and check out, the room service was very limited (although that worker was extremely nice), the bellhop/doorman/valet wouldn't help us find a taxi, and it took almost 20 minutes for the valet to get us our car.

5. Easy check in and check out - we were able to check in at 9am because our flight was early and we requested it.

Excellent location, very courteous staff, nice view from windows (think true for majority of building), good water pressure, unlimited hot water, good sound proofing (not once did hear others in adjacent rms), carpet/linens/decorating all fresh & seem recently updated, clean all around hotel, in-rm housekeeping great, located on top flr is adequate gym w/ good equipment (check out view).

8. I purchased a Living Social Deal for the Allerton Hotel that included parking, 2 free drinks, and a standard room as well as late check out for two.

9. Coffee was down in the check out area, but that was ok with us, because it was great coffee, much better that the pots of coffee you make yourself in the room.
