1. When we entered the room there was a welcome letter from the Executive Assistant welcoming us & a small box of chocolates.

3. Enter the hotel and you see security guards and bell hops chit chatting among themselves instead of greeting the guests with the expected, 'Hello, welcome to Helmsley.

4. We felt very welcome at once - the staff; Doorman - receptionists - concierges all were polite and welcoming at our arrival and during our whole stay ( stayed for one week.

5. 00,the drinks seem a little pricy,but your in New York,the bar staff make you feel very welcome,did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food,but if your looking for a reasonable priced hotel on 5th Avenue i would choose the Helmsley for the price we paid for a 4 nite stay,would i go back,yes it is the hotel that as the perfect location.

8. The staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming, and they upgraded us to a King Deluxe Park View when they found out it was my birthday.

9. The location was fantastic straight across from central park, I can't believe how bad people rate this hotel, the decor is quite shabby chic very sophisticated, ok this is not modern but very nice, the staff were all fantastic and very welcoming, would def go back to this hotel.
