1. While the views from our hotel room were spectacular (we were located on the 17th floor) of Central Park across the street and neighboring high-rises, the room was dated and needed remodeling.

3. Starting from the lobby, there is nothing spectacular but the atmosphere is cool, the lights soft, the furniture classic and the colour scheme elegant.

4. As in the past when we have stayed at this hotel, the room was spacious and clean, the king sized bed was comfortable and well appointed, and the view of Central Park was spectacular.

5. The staff were highly courteous, the suite we stayed in on the 44th floor was specious with spectacular views, and the housekeeping was also upto par, with high standards of cleanliness being met at all times in our suite.

6. i will agree with some of the earlier posts ,The decor does look slightly tired ,It could possibly do with a facelift ,BUT the location is superb ,the view of central park is spectacular,the subway is 2 minutes away ,as are 5th and 6th avenue.

Stayed there on sept 4th, booked room with view, not available on arrival date, given to us the day after without compensation, one luggage piece left with bell man on arrival, restored to us broken, hotel refused to acknowledge its responsibility, all that this hotel can offer is a room with spectacular view if you are accommodated in upper floors (20th to 45th) - trees cover all view up to 10th floor - and as long as you may be given the booked room on arrival, see if valuables hotel policy suites you, there are 2 other hotels on the same avenue Carlton Ritz and Jumeira Essex house, see if they are an option for you before staying at the Helmsley which I do not recommend at all poor breakfast, staff friendly at the restaurant only in 3 words to be avoided.

8. I've chosen this hotel partially based on the tripadvisor reviews but some of them wasn't so spectacular and that worried me a little.

10. I lived in New York for 7 years but NEVER did I experience such a spectacular view as I did from the window of our room at the Helmsley over-looking Central Park.
