4. great location opposite Central Park, nice big hotel, rooms nice a wee bit dingy, we had a view out the back at buildings which wasn't so bad, as buildings were huge and great to look at part of being in New York , The mini bar & tray in the room was really funny if you removed anything for longer than 20 seconds it would be charged to your room lol .

5. From the view on central park, the big windows in the breakfast room with view on central park, the room clean, well decorated and fresh, the bed perfect and no noise as if we were in the country side, to the staff incredibly friendly and perfectly professional.

7. I suppose rooms in these big hotels get refurbed in batches and so getting a good room is a bit hit and miss.

8. I recognise in big cities like New York you don't get the same level of service, but is it really too much to ask for to feel like your custom is worth it, particularly in today's economy.

9. When we inquired about our reservation, we found they do not allocate rooms until you arrive and the only one available was with a single king sized bed - not enough for a big man and two women.
