1. Usually, I'm pretty easy going with hotels; a bed is a bed and as long as there's basic hygiene I'm pretty happy; a holiday is spent exploring, not in the hotel.

2. On the day we left we gave a 5 dollar tip and the Porter must have considered this an insult and he made a grunting sound, we had a similar experience on our 2nd day again when we changed room, the Porter was NOT happy with his tip.

3. I was very concerned about bedbugs, having read they're a risk no matter where you stay in NYC, and I am very happy to report we didn't encounter any.

9. We had to change rooms 3/4 times before we found one that we were happy with either due to adjoining door, noise or just plain tiny.
