5. In the heart of New York's visitor district, I expected high standards and was disappointed for the following reasons:the room was very small for 3 adults for a 5 day staythe en suite had no lock on the dooron 3 of the days, I had to ring to ask for body lotion as none had been left in the roomI had to ask for more coat hangers as we had been provided with 9 for 3 adults for a 5 day stay1 bath robe was provided for 3 gueststhere was virtually no surface area for 3 people to store their stuff in the bathroomthe bath towels were just large enough to be defined as 'bath' towels: generously sized guests would struggleno central light in the bedroomthe escalators were broken on at least 3 occasionsReception staff were, at best, coldly efficient and at worst, supercilious and unhelpful: for example, early in the stay,I asked for information/support to book a Westin hotel in Washington but was told to go and sort it out myself on the internet: subsequently, I was glad that I hadn't tried to book another Westinto access the internet in our room cost us $14.
