2. 5 to 3-star since the rooms could use a makeover but priced appropriately, the restaurant was tastefully renovated and they have an excellent new chief, who was the executive chef at the Mauna Kea Hotel & Resort for years, and the management and staff are superb and portray the true meaning of the aloha hospitality spirit.

8. Hilo Hawaiian had superb customer service, we called up for things from housekeeping and it came in a hurry, hotel room is just nice, we had a balcony, they had a security guard watching your coming in and going out, employees are real friendly, and did I say clean rooms.
