1. The Hilo Hawaiian is an older property and was probably lovely in its day.

2. The restaurant in the hotel is also gorgeous providing yummy breakfast :D a nice buffet and was a great way to start each day especially when we were trekking everywhere :) Hilo is quite a laid back, old style hawaiian town and the area around it so dont be surprised its not like honolulu ladies and gentlement :P It was also lovely watching some of the competitors from the world championship of hula dancing practising their dance.

8. The gardens next to the hotel are worth a visit too, lovely Japanese style, and we walked down Banyan Drive and checked out who planted each tree, like George V, Amelia Earhart it was really cool.

10. It is lovely, lots of waterfalls, we did the helicopter over the volcano from there, and visited the botanical gardens.
