3. Since the hard case was on a clearance sale, and $60 less to spare, I asked if it was ok to purchase the matching hard-case carry-on which was $120, fully stating that I would understand if that this second purchase would not be approved, or I'd be happy if the remaining $60 would apply.

4. Samsonite did not have the exact canvas rolling duffle available, but I got an official quote, and asked if I could use that value to purchase a hard-case, since I've read that hard-case luggage was more immune to the transfer of infestation (I don't want to go through this nightmare again).

5. However, they kind of over-anticipate in terms of quantity, so what's left towards the end of the two-hour service seems to be two hours old (think hard biscuits, congealed gravy, fruit floating in melted ice water, etc.
