1. The cons are the cost and the morning street noise.

2. Even the room doors seem to be maximized for noise - paper thin yet impossible to close without reverbating noises of clicks and slams echoing down the hallway.
"Sort of like staying with the Queen- Great service, surrounded by society folks, outdated style, not a whole lot of rest " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/19/2011 Vote
3. So was the noise - windows which appear to have been updated since the hotel was built still let in every honk, door closing, acceleration of truck/motorcycle, and screetching brake.

4. Wallpaper is fraying, marble vanities in bathroom are cracked, plenty of noise from the streets coming through the old window, an ancient thermostat on the wall that's older than me, etc, etc, etc.

5. The biggest drawback to this was the noise factor - you could hear the next room and the hallway noise as clear as day.

6. Taj has a beautiful lobby, nice workout room on the 4th floor, no pool on the premises, our room did not have a coffee maker in it, heard the door noises from the hall, only parking offered was $42 valet, housekeeping was most gracious and offered free bottled water, bed turndown, and chocolates, the hotel provided complimentary newspaper -New York Times.

7. The only potential complaint with the room is that there was HVAC equipment nearby that made a humming noise if you stopped and listened.

8. Didn't think much of the small room and the 'ridiculously small, one person' bathroom, but the following morning, with the noise of the kitchen (which is understandable ), we asked to move to another location.

10. When we heard all the noise (at 10:30 PM) we called the operator to inquire what it was -- it sounded like bulldozers going back and forth above our heads and we didn`t realize it was a party space.
