1. The Four Seasons Hotel across the Garden has nicer rooms and bathrooms but usually is more expensive.

Maybe that's why the Ritz left and bought a new hotel as it was too expensive to re-do everything, but if someone invested a little more in the suggestions mentioned above, the hotel could be the best in Boston (and still very well might be already, just need to be reaslistic about the place showing it's age).
