2. The bed seemed clean, which is a BIG plus, but the carpet was horrendously dirty, which was pretty horrible, since I didn't want to walk on it in bare feet, and then into a clean bed.

3. In the bathrooms, a bare minimum of toiletries, we remembered some splendid art in the halls now replaced with prints, torn seat cushions, the piano in the grill gone, two waiters in the grill, curtains that are dirty, wilting under scale flowers in the lobby.

4. Turn down was wonderful, complete with a linen floor mat so your bare feet did not have to touch the deep pile carpet before slipping into your Taj terrycloth slippers.
