1. I understand that if you rent from an owner, you the rooms can be much nicer but ours was dark and sad.

9. sadly, out of the three hotels we stayed at on Kauai, this was the most expensive, even though the other two resorts were wonderful (Sheraton Kauai and the Marriott in Lihue.
