1. Now, the less happy parts:- the beach is not a one where you can truly swim as there are rocks all the way up to the beach- there are often outdoor events that are noisy enough to chase you away from the pool grounds- there is only one pool, which for the size of this hotel and the fact that several families come with a large number of kids in tow, is not enough.

5. (8) we visited, but did not use the exercise room - seemed a bit basic for such a large resort hotel(9) 'Kauia grill very noisy, too many children running around, service subpar, other guests dressed too casual, etc'.

6. We liked the pool area and the servers there, but there was no adults-only section, and plenty of noisy families and kids.

10. Some of these complaints may seem petty until you consider the premium you're spending to pass time in this aging resort: Walls in many corridors are covered in black marks, presumably from luggage and housekeeping carts being banged against them; depending on where your room is located, the trip to the pool and beach may require rides on three separate clanking, stiflingly hot elevators; the air conditioning in rooms, restaurants and lobby is tepid at best and can't overcome the afternoon heat; bathrooms are beautiful but have no air vents; the pool was often scummy and is quite small for such a big resort; rooms on the lower levels by the pool are damp and noisy from pool activity; looking up at the rooms from the beach you see massive rust stains and peeling concrete paint on the buildings.
"Getting shabby, even spectacular view can't compensate " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/26/2003 Vote
