4. If I was traveling for pleasure, I would check to see if there were any large meetings and avoid those dates to ensure a calm, quiet stay.

5. We tend to avoid these large hotels because they attract the conference crowds (I've been a conference crowd so I'm not trying to be a snob) which means that there are often crowds at places you'd like to go, the pool, the gym, the restaurants.

7. The hotel is truly special in that it avoided two very easy and common mistakes: (1) it didn't try to update itself with the times only to have a mishmash of styles and (2) it didn't let itself go either.
