1. Had the wonderful opportunity recently to stay at the Chateau Bourbon for 3 nights in the Louis Armstrong suite, enjoying the festive atmosphere of Bourbon Street and the comforts of the hotel.
2. Bourbon Street does have lots of drinking, a big party atmosphere, and lots of strip clubs promising and teasing (but never quite fulfilling) promises of sex and debauchery.
3. The hotel bar is also much classier than any of the bars on Bourbon Street, with a much better selection of top-shelf liquors and drink selections, for the same prices elsewhere in the Quarter.
4. com)The bottom line: Wyndham chateau bourbon is centrally located for business or pleasure- one block from the start of bourbon street; 3 blocks from high end retail shopping, Harrah's Casino, and Jackson square.
5. For the Bourbon street experience, it is the perfect location, strategically situated so that once you're off the street, you can be assured to get a good night's rest.
6. All of the French Quarter to include Frenchman's Street is well within walking distance.
7. This hotel is perfectly situated on Bourbon Street (but away from bars and noise a block away) and a block from Canal Street.
8. The Chateau Bourbon was chosen by the planners of a conference I was attending, and I have to ask myself 'What were they thinking?'The web site shows a beautiful, lush hotel close to Bourbon Street, with lovely rooms and top notch amenities.
9. Plus street dances doing amazing head spins etc., Can get very rowdy later in the evening as the youngsters spill out of the bars.
10. Once out of the hotel and turn into the main Bourbon Street, where all the action is and where all the bars are located, New Orleans comes alive.
