Straight across from the hotel's lobby is the Beverley Centre with Macy's, Bloomingdales and plenty of designer shops to browse, there's a good restaurant, The Captial Grille about 2 minutes away and there's plenty of other eateries such as Cafe Luxe, Johnny Rocket's, Corner Bakery nearby plus numerous cafe's if you don't want to eat in the hotel's restaurant.

8. The hotel is in walking distance to a number of great restaurants including PF Chang Chinese, Jerry's Grill, and an all night chemist which stocks grocery's as well as alcohol.

Service was competent (a previous reviewer noted that there were a surprising lot of bell staff and I have to agree) and the food in the restaurant was just outstanding, everything, from breakfast (where you served a delicious, complimentary mini-smoothie) to lunch (fantastic pizza) to cocktails on the ingenuously designed outdoor patio that almost makes you forget you're at the crossroads of two massive L.
