1. Overall, I would recommend staying here if the price is right, but you can definitely find better options in the area or around Union Square, and most definitely park at the garage across the street.

2. The only compensation is that I could get one of the Free Street WIFI signals for 15 mins at a time that gave me over 10MBPS.

3. We didn't try the hotel for breakfast due to the cost ( $20 per adult, $15 for kids) but found a good cafe (hollywood cafe) just down the street which offers a good selection and great fresh fruit from $7 approx.

4. Pier 39, Scoma's (for dinner), Boudin Bakery (sourdough is delicious), Ghiradelli (free chocolate bar every time you walk in), Pier 23 Cafe (a Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives pick), Alcatraz (awesome audio tour), cable car ride, wine country tour, Lombard Street, Painted Ladies, and Muir Woods are all must-sees.
"Location, Location, Location " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/27/2012 Vote
5. Fishermans Wharf is a noisy neighbourhood, in the middle of the tourist district, no surprise there, so you would think that Holiday Inn would put in windows that allow some sleep but it felt like the late night parties on the street continued right into our bedroom into the small hours.
"Noisy and expensive " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/3/2012 Vote
6. Joanie's down the street is a great place for breakfast.

9. We got almost no sleep because of the noise from the street and from the other guests who were going in and out of their rooms at all hours yelling and slamming doors.

10. One solution is to park in the street for about $8, but you have to watch for street cleaning days.
