5. In short, Hotel Carlton is a good place to stay if you can get a good deal, but look around - even some of the other Joie de Vivre hotels have a bit more going for them in San Francisco.

6. If however, the price was any higher I would have definitely opted for one of the more classic SF hotels - another benefit of SF being a hotel town is that you can often find some very good deals in a city full of rooms.
