Some people might also consider the lack of a restaurant in the hotel to be a downside, but there are plenty of restaurants within
walk
ing distance, so we didn't consider this a big deal at all.

I think it is a good base from which to explore Chicago - we could
walk
most places easily and although a fair distance from the Magnificent Mile we did
walk
there from the hotel.

The location was perfect, if you like to
walk
you could hit all the downtown high points on foot from the Essex, if not, the El is right nearby.
