4. We have chosen to park our car at the Grant Park South lot a short walk north on Michigan Ave since it's cheaper than hotel parking and the in and out privilege offered by the Essex didn't concern us.

7. If you want to take advantage of free parking, do not go into the parking garage which is located under the front entrance.

9. The price of $69 a night was great but thats about what its worth (if there was free parking!) If you plan on never being in your room this is the place.

10. 1)Valet parking (I cringed at paying 29.00 a day, we normally stay at a hotel that offers free parking to its guests)2) room seemed too small for 2 adults and 3 young kids (we had 2 double beds)3)location (other than grant park there wasn`t much else in the area that we really wanted to see)4) Savoy Bar and Grill prices were too high 5) rate I paid of 270.
