5. (A couple more tips - Panera is a short walk and we found a great lunch deal at Einstein Brothers Bagels: free pastry with the purchase of a beverage after 2 p.m. And here's a plug for the Go Chicago card: worth the money this time of year.

9. desk people most helpful with recommending restaurants; great to be able to stay downtown and still have a large pool for the kids; I've told friends and family it's a great deal but now they will get too popular and start raising their rates.
