1. As other reviewers have noted, it is only a five minute walk to the Ala Moana center, where you can find plenty of options for food and drink (at about a tenth of the price of the hotel stuff).

5. Store with fresh food- it's next to Macy's on the way back to the hotel) drop off my snacks in the room, then walk across the street to the Ala Moana beach park and find a nice place to sit and eat my meal and watch the sun set.

6. The breakfast (not included in our rate, admittedly quite a low one for the city and the place) had some awful (potatoes) and some excellent (omelettes) stuff, and all the rest of the food ranged everywhere in between.

7. Food at Blazin Steaks on Atkinson Blvd is great, with a good variety and nice staff (walk out of the front hotel entrance, turn left, and walk 1 1/2 blocks on the left).

9. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you wanted to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki but still wanted some good options for dining as Ala Moana mall has a plethora of wonderful restaurants and a decent food court.
