Luckily the small skylights and the window with the
view
of the rooftop provided sunlight (otherwise it would have felt like a dungeon).

The only better
view
in town is that of 'Departure' a fantastic rooftop bar and restaurant located on the roof of The Nines Hotel (definitely a must for any first time visitor to the city).

In the first room we got the window faced a wall but, to our luck, the elevator to our part of the hotel was down in the middle of our stay so we got upgraded to another room which had an amazing
view
of Portland.
