1. The young lady at the reception desk was very friendly, told us all about the amenities of the hotel, the fact that there was a happy hour at the bar (we we enjoyed) and upgraded us to an elegant room which was very large, weel-furnished and had a fireplace.

5. I stayed at another hotel as old as the Governor in another city a few years ago that I felt nodded to their history but almost used it as an excuse to cut corners and modern amenities 'they didn't have business centers in 1899 .
