1. Located 1 block from pioneer square and a bunch of great restaurants/bars (Clyde common, jakes, henrys, deuchutes), this location is perfect.

2. The hotel is fairly centrally located in downtown with easy highway access and is within walking distance to tons of restaurants, cafes, bars, and gathering places like Pioneer Square & Director Park.

3. The only better view in town is that of 'Departure' a fantastic rooftop bar and restaurant located on the roof of The Nines Hotel (definitely a must for any first time visitor to the city).

4. It had been 10 years since we have been to downtown Portland and the number of people laying around in sleeping bags, drinking and panhandling, in the park and along the sidewalks, discouraged us from further shopping or exploring new restaurants, but this city likes things the way they are, so visitors must deal with it.
