1. We were very pleasantly surprised from the moment we arrived: extremely gracious front desk staff, attractive lobby (with people actually sitting and relaxing in the lobby, always a good sign), nice roomy room with a great view of garden and downtown LA.

3. The hotel was nice; lobby attractive in Asian decor - black and red; the rooms were nicely decorated and clean - we were on the 21st floor and our room had a nice view and had no problems whatsoever.

4. This hotel is close to Union Station but there is not much else around, you need a car or use the Metro to get to other attraction and restaurants.

5. Fourth, the hotel is reasonable walking distance to other downtown restaurants and attractions (like the new Disney Concert Hall, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the restored Union Station, and some museums.

10. Breakfast in Azaleas restaurant was a comprehensive buffet spread including both American and Japanese fare; quality was consistently good or better, presentation of the food was attractive, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was light, sunny and cheerful, especially sitting in the solarium.
